Comedian Russell Brand deepens his connection to Christianity and Jesus Christ, finding significance amid life’s complexities.

Brand recalls that during his youth, Christianity seemed unappealing, appearing either “really irrelevant and old-fashioned” or overly modernized.

The comedian posted a video on X, saying, “The reason I wear a cross is that Christianity and, in particular, the figure of Christ is, it seems to me, inevitably becoming more important as I become more familiar with suffering, purpose, self, and not-self.”

Brand, renowned for his candid reflections, revealed his exploration of the Bible. He also credits reading Rick Warren’s “The Purpose-Driven Life,” indicating a changing perspective on Christianity.

He said, “It occurred to me that instead of always talking to myself inwardly, I could replace one of those voices with an indwelling God. It says in Galatians it’s our job to die so that as Christ died on the cross, he might be reborn in us.”
