A surprise gift from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson goes to an expecting mother in need 

A California pastor was surprised when Hollywood actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, showed up at his ministry to donate items to an expectant mother.

According to Matthew Barnett, founder of the Dream Center in Los Angeles, Johnson and Lauren Hashian dropped by to donate items for an expecting mother.

“I’m just walking down, getting ready to say, ‘thank you’ as we take all her stuff out of the car,” Barnett said. “The Rock’s in the back talking to someone on the phone.”

“He’s like, ‘Hey, how are you guys doing?'” Barnett added. “Engaging people in the most real, normal level. I’m thinking, ‘How much time does he really want to spend here?'” Barnett expressed his shock at Johnson’s generosity on Instagram.

Barnett wrote, “Not only did he treat [the expectant mom] like the most important person in the world, he stayed and listened with a heart of extraordinary compassion to her and anyone.” 

“I realized very quickly that this man not only cares about people’s immediate needs, but he cares about their potential. I’m still in awe by his extraordinary humility and the spark of hope that he brings to the world,” Barnett added.

Additionally, Johnson shared his experience at the church on social media, saying he and his family were grateful to be able to help.

Johnson wrote, “Dream Center is doing amazing work for our brothers and sisters who are struggling and broken—the mana is real when you shake these hands and feel these hugs.” “Great to meet ‘mama to be’ Zaynah, and congratulations on the baby!”

We’ve all been there a time or two and struggling people don’t need a handout — they need a hand up,” he added.

Dwayne Johnson has been known for being kind and charitable

Dwayne Johnson has been dedicated to assisting children for many years through the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation. During its first year, the foundation aimed to support children and create hope in their lives. Its mission has since expanded to include programs to prevent childhood obesity and to educate the public.

Johnson also serves as a director of The Beacon Experience, which offers special courses, mentorship, and increased parental involvement to encourage children to continue their education beyond high school.

Recently, Dwayne Johnson has led the way for stars to support struggling Screen Actors Guild (SAG) union members during their strike. He donated upwards of $1 million to the Emergency Financial Assistance and Disaster Relief Fund of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.

A SAG-AFTRA representative said, “We can confirm Dwayne Johnson contributed a seven-figure sum to its charitable Emergency Financial Assistance Program.” Executive director Cyd Wilson emphasized that it is “the largest single donation we’ve ever received from one individual at one time.” 

He continued saying, “What is amazing is that that one check is going to help thousands of actors keep food on their table, and keep their kids safe, and keep their cars running. And it’s not lost on me that he’s very humble about this, but it is a way to get us started.”
