Daddy Yankee: “I am not ashamed to say that Jesus lives in me”

Daddy Yankee, the famed reggaeton artist, transitions to a new chapter, embracing his faith under his birth name, Ramón Ayala.

At the final show of his farewell tour in Coliseo de Puerto Rico, he quoted Mark 8:36, expressing his commitment to Jesus.

He quoted, “That is why, tonight, I recognize, and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world, that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for Him.”

Going forward, Ayala aspires to use his influence for evangelism, emphasizing a spiritual journey over worldly success.

The rapper said, “All the tools that I have in my possession such as music, social networks, platforms, a microphone — everything that Jesus gave me — is now for His kingdom.”

He added, “Thank you very much, Puerto Rico, and I hope that you walk with me in this new beginning.”

He even referred to John 14:6, which says, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and t he truth and the life.”

Moreover, the event featured visual displays of a cross and the message “Cristo viene” (Christ will come). These reinforced Ayala’s dedication to his newfound faith.

In a Spanish Instagram post, Ayala cited Matthew 16:26-27, questioning the worth of gaining the whole world at the expense of one’s soul.

It says, “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds” (NLT).

The passage emphasizes the future judgment based on individuals’ deeds.
