Olivia Lane is a Christian radio host on “The Message” (SiriusXM Channel 63) and a contemporary Christian music (CCM) artist. She has shared a profound testimony of her spiritual transformation.
Lane, now known for songs like “Woman at the Well” and “I Believe It Now,” had a dramatically different life just six years ago. During that time, she considered herself an atheist.
A decade ago, Lane was pursuing a singing career in Nashville, driven by the quest for fame and success. At that time, she didn’t believe in the existence of God.
However, in 2017, her life took an unexpected turn. She began losing her voice due to the demands of her touring schedule and an overall lack of self-care.
She said, “I just had all these big questions start coming up, like: ‘What’s my purpose in life?’ And so, I decided to go to therapy — regular therapy to heal my mind and then vocal therapy to heal my voice.”
“I saw Jesus with His arms towards me,” said Olivia Lane
During this period, Lane discovered that both her therapist and vocal coach were devout Christians.
Their genuine care and support during her healing journey made a lasting impact on her.
Around a year into therapy, her therapist suggested that spiritual growth was essential for further healing.
“Part of me was like, ‘I’m gonna set out to maybe disprove this for myself.’ But I also was open. I was like, ‘Okay, if it’s real, let’s figure it out.’”
Over the next four months, Lane woke up each morning with a simple yet bold prayer: “God, if You’re real, reveal Yourself to me.”
Despite her initial skepticism, Lane remained open to the possibility of a spiritual awakening. On April 29, 2018, her prayers were answered in a way she never anticipated.
Sitting in her living room and reading “Walking with God” by John Eldredge, Lane experienced overwhelming emotions.
To her amazement, she sensed a divine presence and saw a shadow silhouette of Jesus with outstretched arms against her window.
“I felt like all my feelings were being felt at once, and I sensed a presence in the room,” she shared. “And I looked up, and I saw Jesus with His arms outstretched as a shadow silhouette against my window. And in that moment, I knew.”
A spiritual evolution that led to the creation of a faith-based album
At the start of her spiritual journey, Lane admitted to being unfamiliar with prayer and not understanding the Holy Spirit.
Despite being unfamiliar with prayer and the Holy Spirit, Lane found herself amid a spiritual encounter.
Confused and emotional, she reached out to her therapist, describing the experience as a potential panic attack.
However, her therapist recognized it differently, affirming that Lane had just encountered the Holy Spirit for the first time.
Last summer, Lane took on the role of a morning host on “The Message” and is currently in the process of working on a new album.
“It’ll be a completely faith-based record — my very first one.”
And so, her journey undeniably testifies to the transformative power of faith and divine revelation on life’s trajectory and purpose.
