Tauren Wells Affirms Support for Israel at the 54th Dove Awards 

At the 54th Dove Awards, Tauren Wells conveyed Christian music’s backing for Israel and their prayers for regional peace on TV.

He underscored the hardships experienced by individuals in Israel and Palestine, stressing the significance of praying for peace in Jerusalem.

Wells said, “I just want to express today on behalf of the artists in this faith community here that we remember Israel tonight.”

“We stand with the people of God. And as Scripture instructs us, we pray for peace in Jerusalem,” he added.

In the later part of the evening, the awards ceremony unfolded at Lipscomb University in Nashville.

Brandon Lake won Artist of the Year, and Katy Nichole received New Artist of the Year at the awards. Additionally, it was revealed that the “Song of the Year” honor was bestowed upon “Goodness of God.”

Wells encouraged the audience to grasp the importance of Jesus as the Prince of Peace.

He emphasized that true resolution would only come when Jesus is recognized as Lord in every nation.

He stressed the church’s unwavering worship, praising God despite worldly conflicts, rooted in His enduring faith and reputation through generations.

Following this, Lauren Daigle, awarded for Short Form Music Video of the Year, spoke about unity in spirit. She echoed the idea of unity during these challenging times in our ever-changing world.

Daigle shared, “The body of Christ has an opportunity to become a more united front, pushing aside intensity and dissension, especially going into another political year.”

“In light of what has happened in Israel this week. I think our eyes need to be open to what He might be calling us to. We have the hope of eternity and the good news of the gospel,” she added.

She stressed that our mission is to convey messages of unity, value, and the unique fulfillment God provides, particularly for children.

“We get to tell them that He is the great I Am,” the singer concluded.

Later on, that evening clearly demonstrated the broad spectrum of Christian music.

Notable mentions included “Good Morning Mercy” by Jason Crabb and Dylan Scott’s win in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year.

In the Spanish Language section, “Coritos (En Vivo)” by Miel San Marcos, Daniel Calveti, Marcos Witt, and Ingrid Rosario received recognition.

Lecrae’s “Church Clothes 4” won Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year, and TobyMac’s “Life After Death” took Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year.

Moreover, the rich variety of Christian music earned awards across categories, underlining the genre’s depth.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s “Hymns (Live)” received the honor of Gospel Worship Album of the Year.

Elevation Worship’s “LION: Live From The Loft” was justly declared Worship Album of the Year.

Furthermore, Christian music’s influential role in feature films received recognition. “Jesus Revolution” clinched the prestigious Feature Film of the Year award.

Lastly, the art of songwriting was celebrated with Brandon Lake and Jeff Pardo securing the Songwriter of the Year titles.
